Residents Reminded to Discourage Bears’ Bad Behaviors and Be Bear Aware

As much as we’d all like to have a friend like Paddington Bear, State Representatives Cindy Harrison (R-69) and Pat Callahan (R-108) yesterday joined members of the National Audubon Society and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in Southbury to remind Connecticut residents to remove birdfeeders to eliminate one source of human-bear interactions.

The Town of New Fairfield has changed polling locations for all elections as of this year.

-24th District-NF High School Cafeteria (54 Gillotti Road NF)
-30th District-NF Senior Center (33 Route 37, NF)
– EARLY VOTING for State/Federal Elections: Always at TOWN HALL (4 Brush Hill RD NF)

*Company A Firehouse, Middle School Cafeteria Meeting House Hill School are both no longer used as Polling Locations.

Bridge Deck Strip Patch Membrane Overlay (SPMO) Program on I-84 in Danbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge deck strip patch membrane overlay project will begin on I-84 in Danbury on April 8, 2024. Depending on location, traffic patterns will be set at either 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. This project consists of the rehabilitation of eleven (11) bridges from Exits 3 to 7 on I-84 in Danbury. The project scope consists of milling, drainage upgrades, concrete deck repairs, and paving.
